Tote Bag Spunbond

We’ll walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to create your very own DIY, allowing you to make a stylish statement that champions eco-friendliness. Materials You’ll Need

  • Spunbond Non-Woven Fabric: You can choose from various colours and patterns to suit your style.
  • Sewing Machine or Needle and Thread: Depending on your sewing skills and preferences, you can use a sewing machine or sew by hand.
  • Scissors: Cutting to the needed size.
  • Ruler or Measuring Tape: To ensure the dimensions are accurate.
  • Pins: Secure the fabric in position during the sewing process.

1.     Determine Bag Size and Shape

Begin by deciding on the size and shape of your tote bag spunbond. Measure and mark the dimensions on the spunbond fabric. A standard size is about 14-16 inches wide and 14-16 inches high, but feel free to customize it according to your preferences.

2.     Cut the Fabric

Use scissors to carefully cut along the lines you’ve marked. Make sure the edges are neat and straight to ensure a clean finish.

3.     Fold and Pin

Fold the fabric in half, right sides facing each other, to create the front and back of the craft. Use pins to secure the sides, leaving the top edge open. This will form the body of your tote bag spunbond.

4.     Sew the Sides

With your sewing machine or needle and thread, sew along the sides of the fabric, starting from the top and working your way down to the bottom. Make sure to stitch a straight line, and reinforce the top edge by sewing over it a few times.

5.     Create Handles

For the handles, cut two strips of spunbond fabric, each about 1.5-2 inches wide and 20-24 inches long. Fold each strip in half lengthwise, right sides facing each other, and sew along the long edge.

6.     Attach the Handles

Position the handles on the inside of the bag, about 2-3 inches from each side seam, and pin them in place. Sew the handles securely to it, reinforcing the stitching for extra strength.

7.     Finish the Edges

Fold the top edge of the tote bag spunbond down about 1 inch to create a neat hem. Sew along the folded edge to secure it and give it a polished look.

8.     Turn It Right Side Out

Turn your craft right side out, and you’re done! You now have a custom-made, eco-friendly craft ready to use for shopping, carrying books, or as a stylish accessory.

Crafting this amazing craft is a fulfilling and sustainable DIY project. By choosing your materials and customizing your design, you can create a tote bag spunbond that reflects your style while contributing to a greener world.
